OUR MISSION

Flourishing People. Flourishing Landscapes.

At Ranger Bison, our mission is simple: make clean, high-protein jerky from 100% pasture-raised bison - seasoned simply and crafted with respect for the land, the animal, and the people we feed. Every pouch is part of a bigger vision: thriving communities and thriving landscapes, brought together by the magic of bison and the regenerative farms that raise them.

Why we started

People are tired of over-processed snacks and ready for something real. Before refrigeration, jerky was the answer - preserving meat for travel, trade, and survival. From the Quechua ch’arki in the Andes to Native American bison pemmican, dried meat fueled people on the move for centuries.

For us, jerky began as a solution to a real problem: losing a freezer full of hard-earned meat - twice. Dehydrating bison not only preserved its quality, but opened a way to celebrate an incredible animal and the regenerative ranching practices that protect its ecosystem.

Whole Animal.

Whole Mission.

Every bison has only so many ribeyes and filets - but also roasts, trim, liver, and heart. Demand for premium cuts often leaves ranchers with surplus of the rest. Jerky helps balance the equation, using more of the animal, reducing waste, and honoring its life.

People and Animals Are Meant to Move.

In nature, bison roam freely, grazing and fertilizing as they go - restoring soil, plants, and ecosystems. When animals move, the land flourishes. We believe people are meant to move too, which is why Ranger Bison jerky is made for life on the go - trail, road, river, or ridge.

Where we're headed.

We launched Ranger Bison in summer 2023 at our local farmers market. The first samples brought the same feedback: “This jerky tastes so clean.” By 2025, our jerky was in specialty grocers, coffee shops, hotels, gift shops—and even Yellowstone National Park.

We’re just getting started. Every pouch supports a food system that values quality over quantity, stewardship over shortcuts, and the belief that when people and land flourish together, everyone wins.

Here’s to real food, wild places, and a better way forward.
